Last Week's Happenings

At our Tuesday morning meeting we hosted Meg Maskell who gave us a very good presentation on balance, "walking" us through the mechanics of the pressure points on our feet and how to attain and improve our balance.

On Thursday evening we held our 1st board meeting of the year.  Each Board Member provided an update on their committees goals and objective for the coming year and discussed upcoming events and issues.  Ken Roggerman presented last year's financials of which he and Jenny hope to finalize over the next month, and presented this coming year's budget of which the board approved.  Minutes of the meeting will be posted on Club Runner in the next couple weeks.

This Weeks Meeting

This Tuesday we will again be back to our regular morning meetings at the BG Urban Grill. Stano Faban will be sharing his cultural and mountain adventurers in Kyrgyzstan and China.

Service Project Volunteers Required

We have a number of events requiring volunteers now on our calendar.  Please let us know if you can participate in any of these.  Please RSVP on the event website linked below.

 - Iron Man - July 27 - 29
Murray Wood is coordinating this year IronMan event support this year and needs more volunteers. Athlete Check in occurs over three days. (July 27,28 and 29). Check in is where athletes pick up all the necessary paperwork and race articles necessary to compete.  It is a great opportunity to meet the people who will be competing in the event.  Those who have worked the event in previous years will note that, in general, these athletes are a pretty friendly bunch and Athlete Check in is a good experience.

Subaru Ironman Canada is a big event.  Consequently you must register using their web site.  Sorry!
Please click here for shift sign up information.

 - Creekside Barbecue Championship Pancake Breakfast.- August 5th. Once again Rotary cooks pancakes for the Canadian BBQ Championships competitors. Gil Forester is coordinating this event.
