At our Tuesday morning meeting we hosted Micheal Blaxland who provided an update on the Whistler Syrian refugees. Wendell Moore provided a Did You Know talking about his funding initiative for a Hospice in Squamish. Ken Martin won the wine draw.
This Weeks Meeting
This Tuesday we will again be back to our regular morning meetings at the BG Urban Grill. Jim Watts will be sharing stories of Whistler's pay parking wars and about the current new pay parking policies.
We still need volunteers (Thanks to those who have signed up!) Murray Wood is coordinating this year IronMan event support this year and needs more volunteers. Athlete Check in occurs over three days. (July 27,28 and 29). Check in is where athletes pick up all the necessary paperwork and race articles necessary to compete. It is a great opportunity to meet the people who will be competing in the event. Those who have worked the event in previous years will note that, in general, these athletes are a pretty friendly bunch and Athlete Check in is a good experience.
Subaru Ironman Canada is a big event. Consequently you must register using their web site. Sorry!
