This Week's MeetingAug 14 Bryce Reynold Soap for Hope is a local program that provides Hygiene Products to our local shelters in Victoria. This program works with local hotels to get used hygiene amenities (we reprocess these products to create the Hygiene Kits). Our program will be starting in Whistler and Squamish shortly so we thought it would be timely to come up and speak to your Rotary Club about this initiative. Different Location for August MeetingsDue to staffing issues we have moved to a different location for the summer. That location is the Whistler Racquet Club. Although the location may be familiar things are a little different. Please take note below: Place:Whistler Racquet Club 4500 Northlands Blvd, Whistler, BC V0N 1B4 ( Map) Time: Doors open at 7:00AM. The meeting will still start 7:15. Set-up will be quick! Meal: There will be no hot meal but we will have muffins and hopefully coffee. Our ad-hoc baking committee is hard at work! Please bring $5 for the muffins etc. See you there and if you encounter other members or Friends of Rotary please let them know. Upcoming Rotary Club of Whistler -- Meetings and Events Aug 28 No Meeting. A heads up that there will be no morning or evening meeting on August 28. We have lots of other events on our plate so the Board decided to have a summer break on the evening meetings. Other EventsPacific Canada Experience with Rotaract (PACE) - Aug 29Wednesday Aug 29 is the annual arrival of the PACE group which is a group of 6 Rotaractors from all over the world making a BC road trip. The trip is a BC round trip that fosters global Rotaract ties and provides an authentic experience of Canada’s multiculturalism while facilitating international friendships. Most likely the group will spend Aug 29 in Whistler. Plans are not yet in place but expect a request for billets and a BBQ. One of the highlights of the BBQ is a presentation by each student and this is a great opportunity to "Be Inspired". Mark your calendars for this one. Many more details to come. Rotary Club of Whistler Millennium - Brandywine Boogie - Sep 22On Sep 22 our friends at the Millennium Club will hold the annual Brandywine Boogie. This is an annual trail run from Steve Bayly park to the Cal-Cheak Campground. Opportunities are available for competing or volunteering for the event.
